Sure, some people like to argue that alcohol is a drug, but is it really in comparison to, say, 2C-B or XTC? The Burning Bush thinks not. But apparently, the police disagree, as their reasoning behind busting the rave of a party going on at The Brooklyn Mirage this past weekend was due to, so they thought, the absence of a license to serve alcohol.
“We take not having a liquor license very seriously,” commented Officer Cochon, a 45-year-old who works the night shift at the 83rd Precinct. “It leads to all kinds of other problems, let me tell you,” he concluded.
But little did Officer Cochon and his ilk know, The Brooklyn Mirage’s “accidental” lack of a liquor license was all part of a more elaborate plan: to throw them off the very obvious scent of just how many varieties of truly illicit drugs were present among the crowd. One reveler laughed afterward, “Ah the police, so susceptible to smoke and mirrors.” Thus, The Burning Bush wouldn’t be surprised if The Brooklyn Mirage got shut down for the very same thing once it opens again.
