As Bushwick continues to gain legendary status, it’s no surprise that it has finally gotten a sandwich named after it. The culinary genius behind the concoction, Yuri Troglodyte, has spent years studying what drives Bushwickians–what really sums them up. And as a half Russian, half Lithuanian, Troglodyte definitely knows his food.
When asked what inspired some of the more questionable ingredients in the sandwich–including vermin shavings, fresh blood of a hipster and a light smattering of bed bug corpses–Troglodyte responded, “These are the heart of what represents Bushwick for me. This special little place, with all its strangeness, deserves this sandwich.” So far, Troglodyte has not been able to sell his product in L-Mo’s or Brooklyn Natural, but he has been able to convince Eric Mini Mart on Starr Street that it’s a worthwhile venture. So pop on over and take a bite out of Bushwick!
