The gimmicky nature of Bushwick continues to prevail with the latest business slated to open on Knickerbocker Avenue. The owner of Sit and Spin, Reggie Vi-Eater, a 43-year-old Vietnamese man, has enthusiastically reported to The Burning Bush that his new business aims to emulate the cartoonish, Disneyland-like nature of most Times Square restaurants.
Although many people are suspicious of Vi-Eater’s intentions (he’s a registered sex offender as a result of some “private” Jell-o shot wrestling with a minor awhile back), no one can deny their desire to see the shapeless, untoned bodies of hipster women wrestle with each other. It’s going to be the shot heard round the YouTube universe, as Vi-Eater encourages filming.
As for spin the bottle, that particular room will be sequestered in the back of the restaurant (yes, there’s food–though just wings and fries, as an homage to Hooters) for those times when people aren’t feeling belligerent enough to partake in the wrestling scene, whether as spectator or participant. Vi-Eater stated, “I just want the women of Bushwick to have a safe, comfortable place to go for entertainment.” If the lighting and ambience is any indication, it sounds about as safe as a darkened alley in Chinatown.
