House of Maybe’s constant pressure to one-up the last party it put on (the Beetlejuice wedding one being their crowning jewel of late) has reached a new crescendo with its upcoming Free Party Friday + Real Ball Pit event, a study in the oversaturation of the adult baby trend that has long plagued Bushwick and outlying areas.

Between Melanie Martinez’s “Cry Baby” video and Miley Cyrus‘ “BB Talk” video, it’s no wonder there’s been a brief resuscitation in the phenomenon. And while, yes, of course, “millennials” have always and will always cherish the bygone days of their youth by refusing to acknowledge their old age is here, actually encouraging them to dress in toddler outfits and step into a ball pit is a bit extreme.

The event coordinator, Rodney Regress, a 45-year-old who is donating most of the balls to the pit from his vintage collection, defended, “There’s nothing wrong with getting down and dirty in a ball pit every now and again. It reminds us of a carefree time–unless, of course, you dove into a few razorblades and heroin needles hidden in there the way I did.” The cover charge for the Ball Pit of Despair Party, as it’s being called, will be $30 and includes one free PBR. The only rule? “Come in the pit, but don’t cum in the pit.”
