While it’s a known fact that Bushwickians love their alcohol, it is no longer their sole raison d’être. With the legalization of (medical) weed and the steady work provided by being a weed delivery guy, the shift from free-flowing liquor to free-flowing Mary Jane has fast become the norm in our neighborhood.

“I noticed the change a few weeks ago when I brought some beer to a party. As I was passing a few cans down through the row of people near me, everyone else, in turn, was passing a joint my way. It was then I realized: I was the only one who brought booze,” stated longtime partier Bruno Gnargnar, a 25-year-old cashier at L-Mo’s (he’s one of the only non-Asians permitted a part-time job there).

Other reports of a similar bent have been sent to The Burning Bush, with Laqueeshah from South Bushwick exclaiming, “I’m so glad weed is the new number one party favor!!!!!! Drinks be like whateva.” But for those who still prefer the class and clear-minded non-sobriety of alcohol, Hana Wine & Liquor is having a flash sale to try to get rid of some of their unsold liquids in the wake of a slump that’s been brought on by love and legality of marijuana.
