Sure, we’ve all heard that tired excuse about rents being too high, getting priced out of the neighborhood, etc. But what’s really behind Goodbye Blue Monday’s impending “close”? The Burning Bush has semi-reliable sources that say it’s all just a massive publicity stunt designed to get more people to attend a bar that only serves beer.
And is it really a coincidence that the one bar in Bushwick that lets anyone jump on the stage has become the victim of a potential shutdown? I mean, if you let in just any random riffraff, of course no one’s going to want to show up. How can an audience actually be expected to tolerate what goes on onstage when they don’t even have a proper drink to get them through it?
All we here at The Burning Bush would like to point out is that this could very well be a touch of marketing genius. Or maybe they just need that seven thousand dollars to get a real liquor license and stop subjecting their patrons to so much damn sobriety.
