In spite of the space where Brooklyn Fire Proof (East) being in the Bermuda Triangle of Bushwick, a new microbrewery called Bushwick Beer Corp. has started construction on a facility that will, to quote the company’s publicist, Martha Spinner, “push Brooklyn Brewery off the map.”
Not only will the microbrewery create exclusive concoctions (with names like Hipster Hops and Buzzed Lite Beer already patented) priced at $19 a six-pack, but they’ll also attempt to carry the torch of Brooklyn Fire Proof East by creating an inviting atmosphere for artists to celebrate themselves and their work. Bushwick Beer Corp. owner Matty Capitaliser, a 34-year-old from Detroit, assured The Burning Bush, “We don’t want to dishonor the memory of what this property used to mean. We’ll still have a room that musicians and artists can reserve to showcase their work–provided they put down a $500 deposit and spend at least $100 on Bushwick Beer Corp. products while performing.”
The establishment is expected to be open to the public by mid-May–just in time for the outside summer drinking that those of the Caucasian persuasion relish so much–with tours, memorabilia for sale and cross-promotional marketing beginning the moment the doors open. So grab a glass and a gym membership to embrace the beer-guzzling in your future.
