If someone were to plant you inside of Miles without telling you where you were, your automatic reaction would not be, “This must be Bushwick.” Conversely, one might surmise he was at the upper most reaches of the Upper East Side before it segues into Harlem.
With its dark mood lighting, sophisticated ambience and $12 cocktails, everything about Miles screams, “Money!” That’s why you’ll rarely find anyone under the age of 25 in there, which adds to its Upper East Side vibes and general cool cachet. With all of these attributes in mind, it’s no wonder that Bouge Watcher Magazine has officially declared Miles “the bougiest bar outside of the Upper East Side.”
“It channels the elitism of a place like Auction House on 89th and 2nd with the faintly dirty hipster feel that only Bushwick knows how to provide,” stated editor-in-chief Markus Pompus, a 45-year-old who lives on Bushwick’s Park Avenue, Jefferson Street. The print issue of the magazine will soon be available at Miles for your perusal enjoyment. The article is best read while sipping the Laurel Canyon cocktail. Other features in this month’s edition include, “Bushwick’s Most Sophisticated Sluts,” “Mary Meyer’s Closet” and “What’s In Your Coke Bag?”
