With Björk making regular appearances in the neighborhood at her favorite Iceland-themed bar, Arctic Circle, it’s no wonder that all the Bushwick kids have become even more enamored of her–a sort of supplemental area mascot to Adam Driver.

That’s why a new musical co-produced by Bushwick Starr, hot on the heels of their Maria Hernandez production, and Cobra Club, a bar that’s just trying to “find itself” and make frequent use of their primo back room, is in the works. Entitled I Wanna Pork Björk, the narrative will center around Björk’s misadventures in Bushwick as she tries to sift through who really likes her (whether male or female) and who just wants to fuck her for fame.

Marchiesa Bolognesa, the 23-year-old choreographer of the show, took a moment to tell The Burning Bush a few tidbits about the project, set to debut in the middle of the day on Wednesday, May 13th. “We’re going to be using a lot of Björk’s lesser known songs. Think most of the shit on that album she had out in 1977, way before Debut put her on the map in the 90s. We’ll be having a lot of interpretive dance numbers, too. We’re basically just seeking some sort of recompense for that shitty MoMA retrospective, really. I guess you could say that’s the entire motive behind it.” The production is expected to run through September, with general admission tickets selling for $50, or $48 if you buy a cup of coffee with your purchase.
