With the concept of radio programming via “the podcast” having a resurgence in the Bushwick vicinity, we’ve been in no short supply of unfiltered, unbridled content over the airwaves. From podcasts like How to Turn Your One-Night Stand Into A Book Deal to The Beer Can Sculpture Review, Bushwickians have every reason to be avidly listening to BWCK Radio, a division of iPoons Radio.
The most popular series of late, however, has been While You Were Blacked the Fuck Out, hosted by local drunkard Paul Falldown, a 25-year-old from Philadelphia who knows his way around Bushwick almost as well as he does around Fishtown. Falldown’s premise for the podcast, which centers around having others who witnessed his behavior while he was blacked out at a bar recount it to him, stemmed from an average night of binge drinking that led to antics that eventually appeared on YouBoob. Falldown had no memory of his actions upon viewing the viral video, leading him to the idea for the podcast.
“I enter another dimension when I black out. One that allows me to leave my body and let other people be the judge of it,” stated Falldown. “It’s an art piece, really. I’ve turned blacking out into an experimental display that I’m now having documented for all of Bushwick–whether as a cautionary tale or a source of inspiration,” he concluded. While You Were Blacked the Fuck Out airs Mondays at 4 p.m., usually recapping the events from Thursday through Sunday.
