Not since the Alfred Hitchcock movie of the same name has the word Rebecca been on so many lips. But this time, it’s not a woman, but a place–called, what else, Rebecca’s. Located on Bizarre/Silent Barn turf, the bar is right at the corner of Bushwick Avenue and Jefferson Street, and is part of the seemingly endless Norbert’s owners expansion project.
Though Chirpers may have ousted Norbert’s original perch on Myrtle Avenue, this hasn’t stopped the occasionally nebulous pizza “chain” from flexing its doughy muscles elsewhere, with both Norbert’s Express and Norbert’s III competing forces against other late night pizza joints tailored for drunks like Archie’s and Artichoke.
But with a bar in their arsenal of businesses they’ll be able to create the near-perfect symbiosis of what Titty Tease did with Pizza Boner (mafia-whacked body resin in the oven or not). The question is, will Chirpers end up overtaking that space, too?
