It’s been just over two weeks since White Castle’s Williamsburg location has been closed officially, squeezing out the final remaining semblance of shanty glory that the notoriously hip nexus had to offer. Many, crushed at the notion of being forced to trek to a less than appealing sector of Bushwick (Myrtle-Wyckoff) in order to shamefully inhale fifteen White Castle burgers in a haze of inebriated fuckery, are pursuing efforts to open a White Castle right off the Morgan L stop, thus absorbing Williamsburg’s last bastion of dilapidation.

One Bushwick resident, Eddie Potter, has launched a petition on in an endeavor to bring White Castle to his very own block. Although the petition has gained a staggering 7,563 signatures in just two weeks, there appears to be no word on wether or not progress toward actually achieving the final goal is being made. Potter, whose favorite movie is Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, said he continues to remain hopeful that the fast food restaurant chain will make it’s way to his part of the hood.

There is certainly a chance that we may have the privilege of acquiring the proclaimed gem, but even without the highly desired cholesterol sliders that White Castle has to offer, nausea/diarrhea inducing eats can still be found at an arm’s reach at local joints such as Popeye’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, and many more.
