As rent prices become more and more unmanageable in Bushwick, enterprising “landlords” are finding innovative options for alluring residents to continue trickling into the neighborhood. The latest example is a “room” for rent “right off” the Jefferson stop.
“Conveniently nestled right in the heart of Bushwick–and right in the heart of the subway–this one bedroom apartment is the perfect bachelor pad, and also works for that rare person who still actually needs to commute to the city for work,” advertised Liam Montenegromann, the impromptu landlord who really has no jurisdiction or ownership over this particular subway exit near Wyckoff.
And yet, many Bushwick hopefuls have been responding in droves to the ad, with the competition so fierce, Montenegromann has even had to up his price for the “room” to $975 a month in order to shake off some of the riffraff. “Right now, I’m leaning toward a 28-year-old aspiring Broadway actress who will probably get raped on a nightly basis if selected–not by me, of course,” commented Montenegromann. So if you’re interested in this ideal location, you better make your voice heard while you still can.
