TED Talks have covered just about everything up to this point, so why not Bushwick? Billed under the title “Translating Transformation,” the nature of this talk seems very nebulous indeed. Luckily, The Burning Bush had a chance to chat with the organizer of the event, Rita Intoooit, a 34-year-old editor at Kinfolk who moved to Bushwick about four months ago after being priced out of Park Slope.

Intoooit stated, “This is not going to be about gentrification. In fact, we want people to veer entirely away from this subject. We feel there are other, more meaningful topics to be addressed, like the rivalry between L-Mo’s and Brooklyn’s Natural, for instance.” When asked if the talk would cover some of the more negative byproducts of Bushwick, like its literary scene, Intoooit balked, “I don’t believe there’s anything negative about Bushwick.” All in all, sounds like it’s going to be one of the duller TED Talks the nation has heard.
