Keeping up with the changes that have been going on at the Bogart Street entrance to the Morgan stop off the L has almost become like a full-time job, Luckily, none of us here at The Burning Bush (all two of us) got shit to do, so it’s been relatively easy. The latest alteration? A little facelift to the full-height turnstile that used to look as accordingly jank as the rest of the neighborhood. Now, it’s no more. Bushwickians have been bequeathed with a brand new silver-metaled turnstile by the MTA. And, who knows? Maybe the next one will be finished in solid 24-karat gold as the area becomes evermore relegated to the rich.
The first person to grasp the change, which was made about a week ago, was Trevin Persepteev, a 24-year-old extra who happened to be sober this morning long enough to notice the “tweak.” Persepteev noted, “At first, I thought I was at the wrong stop, like maybe Jefferson or something. I never thought this could happen at Bogart. What’s next? A card swiper that actually works the first time you swipe your card?” Yes, to be honest, this revamp to the Morgan stop is just another sign of the rampant bougery in Bushwick.
