For anyone who isn’t already mourning the loss of Trash Bar, many will be elated to learn that the bar isn’t really shutting down—it’s just moving to Bushwick in order to help allow Williamsburg transcend fully into the new Fifth Avenue. Some, however, might be somewhat saddened to learn that while the bar and its central themes and tenets are the same, the name is going to be slightly altered.

When The Burning Bush spoke with the owner of the establishment, Yousef Trendfollower, a 41-year-old of Ukrainian descent, he explained, “I want Bushwick residents to feel as though Trash Bar is a natural addition to the area. That’s why I’m changing the name to Rash Bar. It seems only fitting considering the type of women and men who live here.”

In accordance with the move (and the precedent set by other bougier “joints” like Forrest Point), Rash Bar prices will also be somewhat higher: ten dollars for a beer shot special, to be exact. So re-allocate your alcoholic funds now before Rash Bar moves to the Halsey L stop in order to minimize competition as fully as possible.
