As any Bushwick resident who walks the streets drunkenly at night or hungover in the morning will tell you, Scumbags and Superstars stickers are peppered everywhere throughout the neighborhood. Although most people aren’t immediately clear on what the brand is selling, it’s pretty evident that it’s a clothing line.

Travis Barker, who founded his Famous Stars and Straps clothing and accessory company in 1999, only recently happened upon the Scumbags and Superstars storefront while he was visiting Bushwick for the first time ever (as any Blink-182 fan knows, he rarely leaves Southern California–and not just because he tends to get in plane crashes when he does).

After engaging in a tryst with occasional makeup purveyor and star of new Bushwick disaster movie Yamanda Decadent (the drummer met her on the West Coast after she sideswiped his car in Santa Monica), Barker was leaving one of the numerous apartments she owns in the area and came across a Scumbags and Superstars sticker featuring its memorable logo. The sight of it stopped him in his tracks momentarily, as he thought it was an ad for his own brand. When he realized it wasn’t, he swiftly called his lawyer to pursue legal action. Hence, you better enjoy the store’s merchandise before it gets shut down.
