Like so many of these [insert name here] Days, they seem to only catch on when Facebook happens to mention that it’s occurring–as with March 8th, when everyone suddenly remembered it was International Women’s Day. Luckily, however, Bushwick’s favorite local feminist group, We the Femmes, already had some celebratory gestures in store for the occasion.

We the Femmes take back "slut" by acting sluttier

We the Femmes take back “slut” by acting sluttier–by not acting sluttier. Get it?

Current leader of the pack, Anorexia Nervosa, told The Burning Bush just how We the Femmes is going to take back the word slut in honor of this joyous of all commemorative events. “We’re tired of ‘slut’ being used as a negative connotation. So we’re going to act as slutty as possibly toward all men, and then not let them enter us at all. We’re going to blue ball them so hard they wished we were sluts in the sense of their definition of the word.”

The women of We the Femmes will commence their statement on International Women’s Day starting at 7 o’ clock tonight–prime bar hour. “We’re going to make Kim Kardashian look like a pilgrim with the way we dress this evening. And we’re going to get sloppy drunk to make them all think we’re amenable to going home. But we won’t. The word ‘slut’ does not mean what they want it to. It means what we want it to. And we’re taking it back!” shouted Gretchen Lipps, a 24-year-old majoring in Ceramics at Pratt. So if you’re a Bushwick man, it might be in your best interest to stay home and masturbate tonight as your own personal homage to International Women’s Day.
