With the exposure and fame profitability of Bushwick Open Studios earlier this year, it’s only natural that local organizers would come together to bring you “an international exposition of artworks and art galleries in and around Bushwick.” The event, which took place this past weekend, has been dubbed Bushwick Open Studios 2.0 and has received such reactions as, “I felt as though I was in Europe!” and “I wandered into 4th Ward to eat at Fitzcarraldo and was met with an orgiastic feast for the eyes!”

Based on the positive reactions, it looks like the original Bushwick Open Studios might actually be ousted by this newer, more exotic edition. One artist who participated in the event, Ian Morrissey, a finger painter (and banger) from Manchester, stated, “Personally, I’ve never been to Bushwick Open Studios. But why would I want to go to something that’s only got Bushwick art, when I could go to something that’s more multicultural?”

Another non-participating attendee, who was a part of Bushwick Open Studios last year, admitted, “Overall, this event is just a lot classier. I was offered pesto pasta, for fuck’s sake. If that’s not international allure at its most irresistible, I don’t know what is.” With such high praise in Bushwick Opens Studios 2.0’s favor (and seemingly no mention of the art on display there), it’s likely that the real Bushwick Open Studios could fade out entirely.
