In some sort of weird flip side to Portlandia‘s Women and Women First scene, a new Bushwick group has risen from the literal debris–perhaps inspired by a need to rail against Bushwick’s foremost feminist league, We the Femmes. This particular organization has branded itself as Women Hating Women, tailored specifically for women who have no desire to be friends with other women and, in fact, can’t stand them. Though, of course, the very nature of this gathering seems antithetical to its cause. You would think they would all just want to stay the hell away from each other, but, no, they have some angst to release.
The ringleader of Women Hating Women, Slutta Sax, a 26-year-old grad student who recently took time off from attending Rutgers, told The Burning Bush, “I’m unclear about why there’s all this emphasis on female unity. Women are the fucking worst. They’re so goddamn annoying, and all they do is take up men that I could be getting free dinners from. And they’re also always snagging the best collage materials before I do.” The Burning Bush attempted to contact the PR person for We the Femmes for comment on this statement, but her head had exploded upon hearing it. The first meeting, which took place last night, proved to be a roaring success based on what the aims of Women Hating Women seeks to achieve–mainly, beating the shit out of one another. It’s sort of like a fight club, but with a gender-oriented purpose. In any case, if you’re a woman who hates women and want to join in on the revelry, the meetings will take place every two weeks on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. at Brooklyn Fireproof on Ingraham Street.
